Bill Webb, Autoliv Automotive Safety Products

Bill is one of the most knowledgable and seasoned experts on the Toyota production System in the country. He is a graduate of several Lean certifications, including Toyota's. A certified production and inventory manager and instructor for APICS, and a TOC Center-Jonah's Jonah. Working as a continuous improvement expert, Mr. Webb had the privilege of spending three years under the tutelage of a high-level implementation expert from Toyota Motors. During this time he had an opportunity, not many in the Continuous improvement community get, to convert a facility to the Toyota Production System (TPS) while working with the people that created TPS (Lean).

Mr. Webb will relate the journey and some of his personal experiences working with Takashi Harada, of Toyota. The transformation resulted in the creation of the Autoliv Production System which propelled this Utah facility into a world-class operation that rivaled any Toyota facility for productivity and quality. The transformation has directly contributed to Autoliv's rise as a highly rated supplier to all major automotive manufacturers and the largest airbag producer in the world.
