Kevin Naya, Boeing Engineering Competiveness & Integration

Kevin leads the Engineering Competitiveness & Integration organization for Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS).  His responsibilities include Strategy; Operations; Lean+ Continuous Improvements; Engineering Engagements; and Environmental, Health, and Safety.  Kevin has 23 years of experience in various leadership roles including continuous improvement, general management, management consulting, managing program IPTs, research & development, and systems engineering.  Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hawaii; a Master of Science degree in statistical communication from Stanford University, and a Masters of Business Administration from the Anderson School at UCLA.

Paradigms must be challenged to accelerate change across an engineering workforce of 30,000+ employees.  Boeing established an initiative called Lean+ 10X as their aggressive pursuit of Lean+ in engineering.  In 2009, quality and throughput increased 3.3X and 3.9X, respectively, on average over the 511 completed implementations.  Kevin will share Boeing's improvement journey and key success factors.
