Principles of Critical Chain Project Management, and Lean served as the catalyst for our new clinical instruction paradigm to emerge. The Baraki Model of Clinical Instruction for Beginning Nurses© combines these improvement principles with our professional specialty knowledge. Continually applying the principles has led to a second generation instructional model, Seamless Simulation for Undergraduate Pedagogy and Practicum Alignment (SSUPPA©), which integrates high fidelity simulation with the Baraki Model©. In this presentation, we will describe how we used improvement principles to create these win/win instructional models that are providing immediate benefits to students, patients, faculty, and our clinical institutional partners. This model was applied used improvement principles to create these win/win instructional models and provided immediate benefits to students, patients, faculty, and our clinical institutional partners with measured increases in throughput of 50% with an increase in quality .
